Mission # 1: Getting the groom to MN (and a place reservation)

As we know, the planning process can be daunting. Where to begin? You open a wedding planner and skilfully breaks little cute every month and activities with these check boxes. Looks easy right? While he feels great little tick this box, it is a little overwhelming if you see a pile of boxes that you cannot verify offshore and these last months! AHHHH!   The one activity that my lists lacked was: "Get married to Minnesota." For those of you who have not read our bio, this means not only we are planning a wedding, but we transplant this sailor in the State of the North Star (and his first winter in MinneSNOWta)!   Official welcome Mike and Minnesota as a resident again!

We knew that he is moving here until October 2010, us have a length in advance on booking, visit the Hall church and reception when he flew to Minnesota for a weekend in March 2010.That receive locations book sometimes years in advance, it is almost as if you book until you meet the guy that you are going to marry! get the time and that we have a summer wedding, I knew that we needed to get in gear on this key list item!

As soon as I picked up her at the airport, hit us the ground running, and it is certainly a weekend marathon! After we have provided the date with the Church, our mission was to see receive locations as much as they could in two days (since he was not able to return to the summer). We knew that we could not really find the location, but if we came to see the whole scene we could restrict what we wanted, where I had to set aside without him here).

The good news after having visited many hotels and other sites, we found a place we both loved us! Garden of Eden Prairie, Room has a spacious atrium with plants, streetlights and benches for time zone cocktail and banquet with two levels and large Windows, room throwing a glance at the magnificent gardens with an outdoor terrace and walking paths. As I was standing there smiling and imaging our first dance and all guests sitting at the tables, I watched Mike smiled, said "Awesome!"  They have an outdoor patio for cigars toast! "[...] Did not exactly make my heart skip a beat … but he excited and this is what counts. J what it offered packages has the map so that we can customize exactly what we want, which is different from many other places that can include things that you do not want or wanted to do on your own packets is also liked. So the big news is the ceremony and reception locations are reserved! Wow!   While I think it's a great feat, it is unfortunately only two boxes not on this list. We recorded many other planning and decisions until he moved here, now it is officially a resident of Minnesota, we have many decisions to get ourselves on track with these checklists that are sometimes wish to hyperventilate in a paper bag.A few of my tips and thoughts of our experiments to investigate the receive locations: try to make an appointment on weekends (Friday or Saturday at the beginning) to actually see the site defined for a (much easier to visualize) marriage.  Know your guest list number.  This is one of the first things they ask because they may have rooms of different sizes.Ask how much they seat without the tables on the dance floor so that no one is to get started their marriages seat.Ask how they book overnight (hotels many times will have one or two rooms large ball that they split with walls of separation). Ask how they separate guests, where hours will be cocktails, etc. If they offer packages, ask if you can add or delete some items (such as decorations if you want to do on your own - but make sure they allow you to) .Think on Acoustics for the musique.Si you want a band, it might not even sound if the site has lots of marble and granit.Demandez costs - many places have cake cutting fees, staffing, set up/break fresh, etc..Even if you are able to bring your own alcohol, there is usually a fee taste (which my friend avoided providing boxed wines)!any other thoughts or advice?Home Photo Gallery (Room Garden of Eden Prairie):Garden Room of EP head table.jpg Reception Room.JPGReception Area.JPG
